What I wore Wednesday. Plus Size Pirate Fashion Tomorrow September 19th is National is Talk like a pirate day. ARGH… This past weekend my family attend the PA Renaissance faire. It was Pirate weekend so I wanted to dress like a Pirate of course and look fashionable. I looked though my closet determined to wearing something I owned. The Renaissance fair is more fun if you dress up because you become part of the show. I was dressed mild compared to the people who go all out. So here is my outfit. I wore a striped tee, long black skirt (I know I could have went for a shorter skirt). I tied a scarf around my waist, which came in handy for when the temperature went down to 60 degrees later. I grabbed all my pirate booty from my jewelery box and put it on. Just give me a reason to wear all my jewelery and I am in. I love dressing in costume.
My hair : I did a side swept french braid.. Then I took a 4″ X 45″ scrap of pirate themed fabric to tie around my head. My son took the pictures we forgot to get a picture of my braid but I was thrilled I did it myself, in the car as we traveled to the faire. Not exactly a Pirate costume.. but the Ren Faire though I was dressed in a costume..so win they gave me a discount on my ticket.
It was a fun afternoon. If you want to learn more about the PA Renaissance fair and see what I made for my daughter check out my other family blog Superexhausted PA Renaissance Faire Tips
So tomorrow you have to Talk like a Pirate.. Because if you think you are a Pirate.. u..argh (a little humor I heard at the renn faire)
I am linking up to Pleated Poppy What I wore Wednesday .. be sure to check out all the fashion post on her blog.
That’s perfect! and my favorite…thrifty! I may have to borrow this idea for Halloween
I love any excuse to layer on the jewels! 🙂
You look fabulous! Every year I want to go to the PA Ren Fair but always miss it. Next year…:)
Hmmm, I wouldn’t want to cross you in a battle…Love the outfit!
I find the faire scene interesting, comical, beautiful and lots of fun. I have not been to one but I’m wondering if men ever wear female garb or is that frowned upon?
I am not sure. I did not see any men dressed up as women. But that does not men it is not OK.
